Jeremy Gosbee, B.A. '98, M.B.A. '02, GW Alumni Association president, ex-officio
A longtime GW alumni volunteer, Jeremy currently serves as president of the GW Alumni Association (GWAA) for a two-year term ending in 2017. In this role he leads a 63-member board of directors and serves as the primary representative for GW’s 275,000 worldwide alumni. His agenda for the GWAA board focuses on enhancing the association’s ability to serve as advocates, ambassadors, and role models for the wider GW alumni community.
Prior to his term as president, Jeremy held several other leadership roles in the GWAA, including president-elect, secretary, parliamentarian, and chair of two committees: Communications and Nominations & Governance. He is a consistent Luther Rice Society-level donor to GW, and for the last several years has provided annual funding for a scholarship fund to benefit undergraduate students with financial need.
Jeremy is a two-time GW graduate, having earned a B.A. in political science in 1998 and a Master of Business Administration in 2002. While a student at GW, Jeremy was active in several student organizations, including College Republicans and the Student Association, where he served as secretary of the SA Senate.
By day, Jeremy works for Edelman, the world’s largest public relations agency and a continual recipient of industry honors. As senior vice president for Edelman’s Digital CRM Team, he leads an in-house group of developers, project managers, and data administrators in counseling Edelman clients on the effective use of customer relationship management software to achieve business objectives. Prior to this assignment, Jeremy led the agency’s grassroots advocacy practice. In his time at Edelman, Jeremy has supported a wide variety of clients in data management, advocacy, and marketing – including the American Petroleum Institute, Blackberry, GE Aviation, the Israel on Campus Coalition, Kaiser Permanente, the National Constitution Center, the National Federation of Independent Business, US Airways (now American Airlines), Walmart, and The Weather Channel.
Prior to joining Edelman, Jeremy served as vice president, client service for Direct Impact, the grassroots communications subsidiary of Burson-Marsteller, where he implemented grassroots advocacy and public education campaigns for some of the firm’s largest clients. Before joining Direct Impact, Jeremy was campaign manager for New York State Assembly candidate (and fellow GW alumnus) Tony Sayegh. He also served for nearly four years as director of alumni communications for GW, where he improved the university’s interaction with alumni by launching a new Alumni House website and creating the first university-wide electronic newsletter for alumni.
Jeremy lives in Arlington, Virginia, but is a proud native of Central New York State.
